Founding-baker recruitment · pre-launch

More time baking. More ways to grow.

We Will Bake is building a local marketplace for independent UK bakers — bespoke cake requests and, in future, fresh “Live Bakes” customers can pick up nearby. Right now we're inviting a small group of founding bakers to help shape it.

What you can do

A profile that's yours

Show your real bakes and your own words, with honest check labels.

Relevant local requests — later

When customers arrive, the aim is to match you with requests near you that fit your skills.

You control availability

Accepting work, days, blocked dates and notice — set them now, change them anytime.

The goal is less scattered admin — fewer DMs, spreadsheets and back-and-forth. Customer requests, quotes and payments are not live yet.

How it works

Four steps, saved as you go — come back whenever you like.

  1. Step 1

    Personal information

Your trading name, the general area you serve and how customers would collect or receive bakes. Private details stay private.

  2. Step 2

    Skills & availability

What you bake, how much notice you need, the days you work and dates you're off. Change it whenever life changes.

  3. Step 3

    Business checks

Find your registered food business on the Food Standards Agency register and upload your food hygiene training certificate.

  4. Step 4

    Profile

A photo, a short introduction in your own words and up to six photos of your real work.

  5. Then

    A real person reviews it

Approval needs a matched food business registration, a reviewed training certificate and a staff decision. A search match alone never approves anyone. If something needs changing, we'll tell you exactly what.

About checks and insurance

Required: registration as a food business with your local authority, and a food hygiene training certificate. These are two separate things — your rating comes from the council, the certificate is your own training.

Awaiting inspection is welcome. New registered businesses can be approved after review, shown as “Registered business — awaiting inspection”.

Insurance is optional. Tell us if you have it; evidence stays private. We don't sell insurance or promise discounts.
